Direction to Pray Namaz | My Qiblah
Muslims face the direction of the Ka’bah when they pray. The Ka’bah is a cube-shaped building in the city of Mecca, in present-day Saudi Arabia. Muslims believe that the Ka’bah was built by the prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael.

The Ka’bah is considered the most sacred site in Islam. Every year, millions of Muslims travel to Mecca to perform the hajj, or pilgrimage. During the hajj, pilgrims walk seven times around the Ka’bah in a ritual known as Tawaf.
When Muslims are not able to travel to Mecca, the Direction to Pray Namaz using a prayer mat or prayer beads. To find the direction of the Ka’bah, Muslims can use a compass or look for the stars.
